All rental vehicles are covered by comprehensive insurance. Third-party liabilities are insured through Capricorn, while BeCoast vehicles are self-insured for own-vehicle damage.

What is the insurance excess?

Accepted Answer

The standard insurance excess is $4,000 per claim if the renter is deemed at fault or if liability cannot be determined.

An additional $1,800 under-age excess applies if the driver involved in the claim is under 25 years old.

If the insurance investigation confirms the renter was not responsible for the accident, the excess will be refunded once the claim is finalised.

What should I do if the vehicle is involved in an accident or is damaged?

Accepted Answer

All accidents, damage, or incidents must be reported to the rental provider immediately. Failure to report an incident may result in additional liability or charges.

Is roadside assistance included?

Accepted Answer

Roadside assistance for operational issues such as flat batteries, tyre replacement, or other driver-related situations is not included in the standard rental. Service or call-out fees may apply.

If towing is required due to an accident or mechanical failure, BeCoast must be contacted first and authorisation must be obtained before arranging towing services.

Am I responsible for servicing the vehicle during the rental period?

For long-term rentals, the renter is responsible for ensuring the vehicle is serviced when the scheduled service becomes due. Failure to do so may result in mechanical damage and associated repair costs.

What condition should the vehicle be returned in?

Accepted Answer

The vehicle must be returned in a clean and reasonable condition. Excessive dirt or contamination may result in additional cleaning charges starting from $90.

What is the service area?

Accepted Answer

Rentals are available for the Perth Metro Area only. Travel outside the metro area must be approved by the rental provider.

What do I need to bring when collecting the vehicle?

Accepted Answer

Please bring a valid WA driver's licence. If using an international driver's licence, you must also bring: your passport, a valid visa, and a credit or debit card for the security deposit.
